Sandown

Sandown is a quieter part of the island, but still with plenty to do and see. Whether you're walking or driving then be sure of plentiful views of the town, island and even England or France. On a clear day one can see the French coast line or if you prefer, the shores of Portsmouth and Southampton. Sandown had key roles during the second world war for Britain's defence and also has one of Britain's oldest military research bases. On the right of this page you'll see plenty of links for some of the local attractions and events.
